Kyle’s design raises the bar

A Teesside University interior architecture graduate has designs on the future after winning a major competition.

Kyle Minnock won a competition to design and remodel the bar areas of the Leeds First Direct Arena, following a competition on social media website Tumblr.

His winning entry was chosen by a public vote.

Kyle, who is working at a Leeds design studio, has been assisting First Direct to make the bar a reality.

He said: 'It's a once in a lifetime opportunity for me and my future as an interior architecture graduate.'

His design was among just five shortlisted entries, after being chosen by a panel of experts including First Direct chief executive Tracy Garrad and Leeds Retail Association founder David Laycock.
