Teesside received the targetjobs National Graduate Recruitment Award 2024 for Best University Employability Strategy at a gala event at London's Grosvenor House hotel.

The award celebrates Teesside’s achievements in ensuring its undergraduates are equipped to achieve their potential when searching and applying for graduate roles and transitioning to employment.

The judging panel, made up of industry experts and graduate recruiters said Teesside’s strategy “is bold, future focused, ambitious and globally outward looking” with the university receiving recognition as a “force of change, backed by industry accolades and thought leadership on digital literacy and skills".

Professor Craig Gaskell, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise & Knowledge Exchange) commented: ‘As an anchor institution in the Tees Valley, we are committed to putting students at the heart of everything we do by ensuring they receive an outstanding, high-quality learning experience that delivers excellent outcomes.’

The award follows Gold rating recognition across all three areas of the Teaching Excellence Framework in 2023, where the awarding panel highlighted that Teesside provision “inspires and motivates students to reach their fullest potential, using highly effective tailored approaches that support students to succeed in and progress beyond their studies".

‘The deep integration of our support functions across the university and our collaborative partnership working with employers, reflects the diverse range of opportunities that students can leverage whilst at Teesside University.’

targetjobs (previously TARGETjobs) is the UK’s most popular graduate jobs website, providing access to a wide range of career opportunities and advice. Its awards scheme is the largest of its type in the UK, having attracted almost 100,000 individual votes from undergraduates, apprentices, and school leavers this year.
