Emma Nelson, a Teesside University graduate, has set sail on one of the world’s most demanding endurance adventures, the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Over the course of nearly a year, she’ll navigate 40,000 nautical miles across six continents aboard the UNICEF boat, raising awareness and vital funds for children around the globe.

Emma began her journey on 31st August, embracing the challenge not just as a sailor, but as a personal mission of resilience. Reflecting on her motivation, she shared, “After a long journey with my mental health, I’m determined to show that our struggles don’t define us. I’ve built a successful business and a full life from scratch, and now I want this voyage to inspire others - proving that it’s possible to overcome obstacles and achieve extraordinary things, in spite of the hard things we live with.”

Emma is inviting support in two key ways: • Donations: Every contribution helps UNICEF continue its life-changing work for children worldwide. • Sponsorships: Partnering with Emma offers your brand global visibility, from international waters and ports to digital platforms, while aligning with a powerful cause.
