A movement created in Teesside to champion female entrepreneurs across the UK is continuing to grow after hosting its second successful Founder Live event at Teesside University.
Female Founder UK welcomed female founders, business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs to The Curve for an evening of open discussion, storytelling and collaboration. The event explored topics including visibility, authenticity, investment bias and the challenges women continue to face when building businesses.
Founded by entrepreneur Max Freer, Female Founder UK is creating a nationwide community that supports women to connect, collaborate and succeed together.
Many of those in attendance were Teesside University alumni, including guest speaker Laura Hall, founder of The LH Group and a Business Management graduate. During a candid fireside chat, Laura shared insights from her entrepreneurial journey, including launching The Truffled Hog just days before the Covid-19 lockdown and the realities behind the polished images often seen on social media.
The event also featured sessions from SASS Media directors Sarah Dale and Sarah Walker, alongside discussions on financial wellbeing, entrepreneurship and the barriers women can face when growing a business.
With its roots firmly in Teesside, Female Founder UK is now expanding its reach with events planned in Newcastle, Manchester and London, while continuing to champion female entrepreneurial talent across the UK.
