Supervisor training

Staff who are new to research degree supervision are required to complete our supervisor training. If you are new to the University but have supervised previously, the training programme provides an optional refresher and an introduction to the University's regulations, systems and processes.

Our supervision training consists of an online programme, which you can work through at any time. We also offer an online course on the University's examination and assessment processes for research degrees.

Once you have completed the online supervisor training programme, you should sign up to take part in an in-person session. Sessions are usually held four times a year and include group discussion of the programme content and further consideration of case studies.
