Launch of new Virtual Marketplace to support graduate enterprise

30 October 2023

Ahead of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the University’s Alumni Team is gathering information for a new business directory which will be launched as a Virtual Marketplace.

The new Virtual Marketplace will provide a platform for those selling products or offering professional services, and is open to graduates, current students and Teesside staff who have a side enterprise.

Hosted on the Alumni section of the University’s website, the initiative is part of ongoing work to showcase and support Teesside’s entrepreneur community.

Head of Alumni Engagement and Stakeholder Development, Rachael Barker comments: “Teesside’s graduate community has a rich heritage of freelancing, enterprise, and an entrepreneurial approach to employment. Our new Virtual Marketplace will give students and graduates the opportunity to showcase their products or services. Capitalising on the University’s expansive community networks, Teesside’s reach may well support businesses developing a truly national, if not international, visibility and customer base”.

The new Virtual Marketplace operates as a directory featuring the profile of the business and links to social media and where available, an online store. The initiative is one of an array of initiatives offered by Teesside University as part of it mission to embed entrepreneurialism across its curriculum and support the growth of the region’s economy through the creation of innovative and successful businesses.

Graduates, current students or staff members who would like to be listed in the Virtual Marketplace can complete our short online form and a member of staff will be in touch.
