Do you want to become a midwife?

The Women’s Health Team are now recruiting for the pre-registration midwifery programme to begin in January 2010.

The course is aimed at qualified nurses who would like to become midwives caring for child-bearing women, babies and families.

This is a pre-registration 78 week programme - you are normally employed for the duration of the course through a 78 week fixed-term contract with an NHS trust, with a salary in line with ‘Agenda for Change’.

Entry requirements

  • applicants should be nurses who are currently registered general or adult branch on the NMC professional register
  • you should have evidence of study at diploma level (with 120 level 2 academic credits) including evidence of studying research methods at diploma level (level 2)
  • overseas applicants may be considered on a self funding basis.
