Historical inspiration for costume design show

05 June 2000

The Design Crafts for the Entertainment Industries Degree Show at Hartlepool's Cleveland College of Art & Design promises to be an eclectic mix of colour, textures and styles.

Two final year students, Kerry Farley and Abi Dennison have been putting the finishing stitches to their final year projects for the show which is open to the public from 8 June -14 June from 10am at the Hartlepool Campus, Church Square. Contact the college on 01429 422000 for more details.

Kerry, 22, from Guisborough, looked to the 1910 Russian ballet The Firebird for inspiration for her project. The lead dancer's costume is a bright and beautiful array of rich, vibrant colours and textures. Abi, 22, from Harrogate was inspired by Shakespeare's Demetrius from A Midsummer Night's Dream. Her costume comprises an Elizabethian doublet and hose
