Free Public Lecture at the University

01 March 2000

Professor John Bentley, an acknowledged expert in instrumentation, flow measurement and reliability, will give the next public lecture at the University of Teesside on Wednesday March 1, 2000, in the Europa Building/University Cinema, Woodlands Road, Middlesbrough.

The lecture starts at 6.30pm, with light refreshments available from 6pm. Professor Bentley, who is the author of several major texts, including Principles of Measurement Systems - now in its third edition - is a Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control. He joined Teesside Polytechnic in 1972 from ICI's Petrochemicals Division.

His lecture 'Measurement, Modelling and Multiplication' will look at examples of measurement in industrial processes and engineering systems and describes the use of mathematical modelling to both estimate and improve accuracy.
