Middlesbrough World Suicide Prevention Day Conference (MWSPDC)
Teesside University Students' Union, 17:30-22:00
September 10 marks World Suicide Prevention Day. In a lifetime 1 in 5 people have suicidal thoughts, 1 in 14 people self-harm and 1 in 15 people attempt suicide. In 2023 alone, over 6,000 people took their own life in England and Wales. Despite this, stigma still exists, many wouldn’t know what to do if someone close to them began experiencing suicidal thoughts and many struggle to open up about the difficulties they are experiencing.
