The Educate North Awards highlight excellence across universities, colleges and sixth forms.

The Outstanding School, College or University category recognises institutions that demonstrate exceptional commitment to transforming lives, supporting regional growth and delivering high quality education.

Teesside University was praised for its sustained civic engagement, commitment to digital inclusion and cultural impact.

The accolade is awarded by Communicorp UK, home to Capital, Heart and Smooth radio stations, and presenter Jo Lloyd visited Teesside University to reveal the results ahead of the Educate North Awards.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Mark Simpson said: “Winning the Outstanding University Award is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the dedication, innovation and passion of our entire university community.

This recognition is a powerful endorsement of our mission and demonstrates the real impact we are having on students, partners and the wider region.
