Hosted by Dr Clair Cooper, this event will explore the explores how industry and community stakeholders perceive and experience the operationalisation of a just transition within the context of decarbonisation, with a particular focus on the Tees Valley region.

Clair will highlight the importance of fairness, capability, and inclusion in shaping low?carbon futures, and identify both enabling conditions and structural barriers that affect local people’s ability to participate in emerging hydrogen and clean?energy economies. The findings emphasise that achieving a just transition requires coordinated action from industry, policymakers, and educators to build skills, strengthen trust, support communities, and ensure benefits are shared equitably.
