Schools apply and are selected for this distinction based on their commitment to continuous innovation in education and using Apple products to inspire, imagine and impact teaching and learning.
This continues the University’s current three-year designation from 2021-2024.
Teesside University was first recognised as an Apple Distinguished School in 2021, acknowledging its success in creating an innovative and compelling learning environment which engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic achievement.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centres of leadership and educational excellence which display a clear vision of how their technology-rich environments support learning goals, inspiring student creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.
This recognition has built on Teesside University’s transformation under its Future Facing Learning initiative, which prioritised the digital empowerment of staff and students. As part of this initiative, iPads are provided to students and staff to support teaching and learning, while hundreds of academic staff completed the Digital Development Programme to boost innovation and creativity in their teaching.
Teesside University was also the first European higher education institution to become an Adobe Creative Campus in recognition of its commitment to promoting digital literacy across all courses and areas of study.
We are delighted with this recognition. It reinforces our reputation as being at the forefront of the higher education sector when it comes to utilising advances in technology and engaging with new ways of learning and teaching.
Professor Mark Simpson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Teesside University, said: “We are delighted with this recognition.
