Undergraduate fees (UK students)

What you pay

2025-26 entry

Full-time students

If you're a full-time UK student, the tuition fee for an undergraduate degree is £9,535 a year. A foundation degree costs £6,340 a year, and a Higher National Certificate or Diploma is £4,635 a year.

If you're studying a foundation year, your fee depends on your subject. Students taking a classroom-based foundation year in business, humanities or social sciences pay £5,760 a year, while those studying computing, creative arts, engineering or science pay £9,535 a year.

These fees apply to the 2025-26 academic year and may increase in future years, in line with any rise in the UK Government's tuition fee cap. The government has indicated that future increases may be linked to RPIX (retail price index excluding mortgage interest payments).

Placement year fee waiver

If you're studying an undergraduate course with a placement year and pay UK fees, you'll receive a full fee waiver for that year.

Integrated master's discount

Students on integrated master's degrees, such as MEng courses, pay a reduced fee in their final year of either £7,710 (standard tier) or £8,365 (enhanced tier), depending on the course. Fees for MOptom Optometry and MPharm Pharmacy remain at £9,535 a year.

Part-time students

If you're studying part-time, courses starting in September 2025 or January 2026 cost between £4,020 and £4,758 for 120 credits. You can find the exact fee for your course on its individual page.

Teesside University open learning in engineering

If you study through Teesside University Open Learning in Engineering, you pay for each module as you go. Each module costs £495, and a Higher National Certificate includes eight modules. A higher National Diploma includes up to 16 modules.
