Apprenticeship Academic Delivery

In both the classroom and workplace, our team fosters an engaging and effective learning environment. With a focus on meeting individual needs, we prepare apprentices for career development and progression while ensuring a seamless connection between university learning and employer expectations.

Key Principles of Learner-Centred Apprenticeship Delivery

  1. Individualised Training Plans
    1. Conduct Initial Assessments (IA) to evaluate apprentices' prior experience, strengths, and areas for development.
    2. Adapt course delivery to meet specific learning needs, including the recognition of prior learning and additional support requirements.
  2. Learner Progress: Monitoring and Support
    1. Maintain a continuous feedback loop through progress reviews, enabling apprentices to give and receive constructive feedback.
    2. Provide direct support via mentors, Apprenticeship Quality Coaches (AQCs), Personal Tutors (PTs), and Apprenticeship Academic Mentors (AAMs).
  3. Comprehensive Support Offer
    1. Access to a wide range of university resources, including library facilities, the 24-hour health and wellbeing helpline, and the Student Futures career support programme.
    2. Tailored academic support through named tutors, MERIT maths resources, and functional skills development for identified needs.
    3. Inclusive support through Student Support Plans and access to the Students' Union.
