Undergraduate showcase 2020
Workshop, studio, gallery and classroom-based learning allows you to explore and experiment in your chosen creative subjects. You work with skilled technicians to help you create and innovate, and have open access to all workshops to develop your personally defined project themes.
Our academic team has a wealth of teaching experience and specialist knowledge, are active internationally across research and industry, and all contribute to our collaborative and interdisciplinary ethos.
You develop the skills, knowledge, resilience and networks to sustain a life of creative practice. Our students go on to work in a range of fields - they are digitally able, financially savvy and know how to make things happen in the world.
Creative Academy uses art and design to innovate businesses, support individuals to be more creative, and develop young minds through our summer schools.
Matthew joined Teesside University in 2018 as Head of Department for Psychology. He is a cognitive psychologist with a background researching spatial and linguistic representations in dialogue.

Jonathon joined Teesside University as a principal lecturer for psychology and is currently Associate Dean (International). He has published a number of journal articles covering research into the cognitive and physiological effects of food supplements and recreational drugs, and barriers to cancer screening.

Clare is responsible for overseeing all aspects of learning and teaching within the School, including ensuring delivery of a high-quality student experience, curriculum development and quality assurance.

Jane is responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment, marketing and communications, as well as portfolio development. She is a chartered marketeer with over 20 years’ experience in the education sector, winning numerous awards for campaigns, creative direction, brand and student recruitment. Jane spent ten years in marketing, PR and communications working in professional sport, and running her own businesses. She is an active board member of the Association of Colleges, Hartlepool FE College and the Power of Women as well as being on several marketing advisory boards.
Kieran leads the University's People and Place research pillar. He is a skilled lecturer, facilitator and researcher with over 15 years' experience in research strategy, impact and evaluation, and leadership and organisation development. His work involves working with the research community and our partners to create a vibrant, inclusive and engaged research culture.

Victoria's academic background is in rural issues, with her PhD focusing on experiences of living, working and visiting Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site. Her research interests are varied, including qualitative and visual research methods, volunteering, the sociology of tourism, heritage, and space and place.

Emma is responsible for supporting the Dean in the leadership and management of the school with particular emphasis on strategy, resource management and performance.
Jill is responsible for supporting the Dean in the management of academic and student activities through the student journey, and supporting the academic quality assurance of the student learning experience.
