Real-world experience

We are committed to ensuring you graduate with the best possible skills for employment in the legal profession. Through Teesside University Law Clinic, we work in partnership with lawyers, charities and voluntary organisations to give you real-world opportunities and practical skills in law.You also have the opportunity to gain real world work experience through our Employability and Work Experience, and Applied Practice modules, giving you practical experience and helping you to develop your work-based, employability and reflective learning skills.

We work closely with Watson Woodhouse Solicitors who recruit our students to train as police station representatives. This fantastic partnership provides invaluable opportunities for students and enables us to give something back to our local community.

Quality teaching

You learn from a friendly, accessible and expert group of staff who are committed to providing an excellent learning experience. Our expert teaching team are actively engaged in legal research.

Policing and investigation students benefit from our links with Her Majesty's Prison and Probation Service and Cleveland Police. Academic staff draw upon local case studies to enrich teaching, both in class and by sending you out into the community and maintain an excellent network of contacts with key policy makers and practitioners.

First-class facilities

You benefit from specialist teaching facilities, open-access computing laboratories and a Future Facing Learning suite, as well as access to a wide range of resources provided by our Library.

You spend time gaining practical experience in our replica courtroom which has all the features of a modern court. You also use our replica police station which includes a custody office, front desk and interview rooms, and crime scene facilities, which include a crime scene house laboratory and vehicle examination facility.

At the heart of Teesside University Law School is our Law Clinic which provides invaluable pro bono legal advice to University community and wider Tees Valley area. Our students have the opportunity to gain essential employability skills by working on live cases across a broad range of practice areas, under the supervision of qualified and experienced legal professionals.
