Collaborative PhD studentships

Collaborative PhD studentships provide an opportunity for organisations to develop and support a high-quality research project based on their needs.

Teesside University research students working together

Our collaborative PhD studentships typically last three years. A student is recruited to work towards a PhD based on your organisation's objectives and with the support of a team of academic supervisors.

We can also work with you if you would like to offer funding to current employees to undertake a PhD at the University.

Benefits

  • Work with a dedicated PhD student to co-develop a high-quality research project based on your organisation's needs.
  • Benefit from expert input from a team of academic supervisors.
  • Gain access to leading-edge expertise, facilities and equipment.
  • Give your organisation a competitive edge by investing in and applying research and innovation.
  • Forge a long-term relationship with Teesside University and stay connected to our research and training opportunities.

Recognising the importance of R&D to the prosperity and resilience of the region's businesses and institutions, Teesside University is committed to co-funding collaborative PhD studentships each year.

Applications can be submitted throughout the year.
