Workforce development
Gamma Communications is investing in developing the digital capabilities of its workforce to support innovation, improve productivity, and maintain their competitive position in the fast-moving telecommunications and technology sector.
As AI and digital technologies continue to transform the industry, Gamma recognised the need to equip their workforce with practical skills that could be applied directly to business operations. The challenge was not only to build knowledge of AI and digital tools, but to ensure these skills translated into measurable improvements across the organisation.
Through its partnership with Teesside University and Grant Thornton UK LLP, Gamma enrolled employees onto the AI and Digital Skills for Business Impact apprenticeship. The programme provides practical learning in data, automation and responsible AI, enabling employees to apply new knowledge to live business projects and support strategic priorities around growth, innovation and customer experience.
By embedding learning into real workplace challenges, the apprenticeship is helping Gamma improve operational efficiency, enhance decision-making and build future-ready digital capability across the business. The programme is supporting the organisation's long-term investment in its people while delivering tangible business value.
What stands out is the programme's strong alignment to real-world business challenges. Our employees are able to directly apply their learning into live projects, supporting Gamma's priorities around growth, innovation, and customer-centricity. It's a highly valuable investment in our people, helping us build future-ready capability at scale.
The apprenticeship has been a really rewarding experience. It has given me practical skills that I can apply directly to real projects in my work. It has grown my confidence in managing business change as I take on more responsibility across AI initiatives. I have enjoyed learning from inspiring tutors, applying theory to meaningful business transformation and seeing clear impact on the work I produce.
