Developing digital skills to improve patient care

Workforce development

Circle Health Group are developing digital skills to improve patient care.

Circle Health Group is investing in digital skills development to strengthen their workforce, support innovation, and continue delivering outstanding patient care in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.

Challenge

Rising patient demand, workforce challenges and the rapid adoption of digital technologies created a need for colleagues to develop the skills required to drive measurable improvements across clinical and operational services.

Solution

Through its partnership with Teesside University, Circle Health Group enrolled colleagues onto the AI & Digital Skills for Business Impact Level 4 apprenticeship. The programme develops expertise in data-driven decision making, digital transformation and the responsible use of AI, giving employees the confidence to apply these skills in their day-to-day roles.

Impact

Colleagues are already applying their learning to identify efficiencies, improve patient pathways and support innovation across the organisation. By embedding digital capability across the workforce, the partnership is helping Circle Health Group build a future-ready workforce while continuing to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.

What makes this apprenticeship particularly valuable is its direct applicability to our operational environment. Colleagues are applying their learning in real time, identifying opportunities to reduce inefficiencies, improve patient pathways, and support innovation across our services. This partnership is playing an important role in helping us build a future-ready healthcare workforce, ensuring we can continue to respond to sector challenges while delivering safe, high-quality care.
