The One Fifteen is a series of informal lunchtime talks, in which academics from Teesside University talk about current research and take questions from the audience. No prior knowledge of the subject is needed. Please come prepared to be inspired and to ask questions.

How can the world beneath our feet help to fight our climate crisis?
Dr Caroline Orr and Dr Gillian Taylor will talk about ecological research, exploring how soil microbiology and chemical processes are responding to the challenges of climate change.

Climate change-induced shifts in temperature, precipitation patterns, and soil moisture levels are altering the composition and activity of soil microbial communities, with potential implications for ecosystem resilience and productivity.
We will unravel the complex chemical processes occurring within soil ecosystems and their sensitivity to climate change.

Dr Caroline Orr and Dr Gillian Taylor are both Associate Professors (Research), based in the School of Health and Life Sciences at Teesside University.

This talk has a maximum of 32 places. If you are booking for a group, please contact a.reid@tees.ac.uk.
