Team Teesside's Star Awards

Teesside University and the Students' Union collaborate to celebrate the excellence and service demonstrated by staff throughout the year.

The Star Awards brings together the annual presentations for long service and academic achievement, with a series of special awards that recognise the outstanding contributions made by nominated colleagues from across the University.

Each year we invite colleagues and students to submit nominations in a variety of categories, including individual and team awards.

Our finalists will be invited to attend our prestigious Star Awards celebration event on Wednesday 15 May, at which we will announce the names of the winners and recognise the outstanding achievements of all our Team Teesside colleagues over the past year.

I've recently started working at Teesside and I've found the campus to be very welcoming and accommodating. I work in the catering department and it's amazing how much thought is given to the many different cultures here, and reassuring students we can cater for their needs and make their University experience a happy and positive one .

Deborah Lowe , Catering and Hospitality (The Garden), Campus Services

Team Teesside means working together to achieve the best results no matter your role, and supporting each other through the highs and lows.

Danny Mawle, Information Analysis Administrator, Finance & Commercial Development

I'm new to Teesside but have worked in HE for many years. I know that if all staff, no matter their role, have a passion to deliver a fantastic student experience our students will feel this and benefit from it. I've found this shared passion at TU - this is Team Teesside.

Dr Nicola Watchman Smith, Deputy Director Student Learning, Student Learning & Academic Registry

Team Teesside for me is all about inclusion and feeling connected to the overall objectives and aspirations of the University. It's about knowing we can all play our part, no matter how small, in making this the best University for students and staff.
