For further details contact events@tees.ac.uk or 01642 738232.

The Star awards brings together the annual presentations for long service and academic achievement, with a series of special awards that recognise the outstanding contributions made by nominated colleagues from across the University.

We are asking staff and students to nominate staff in a variety of categories, including individual and team awards. If there is someone who you feel deserves to be recognised this year, now is your chance to help make it happen.

Has someone gone above and beyond? Has a team, School or department gone that extra mile? Has a lecturer inspired you? Or is there just someone who is always happy to help out?

Use the form below to make your nomination(s) for one or all of the awards. Make sure to include a description for why you’re nominating that person or team in between 50 - 200 words. Please provide as much detail as possible as this will benefit your nomination at the judging stage.

Three finalists in each category will be invited to the awards dinner on Wednesday 8 May when the winners of each category will be announced.

All staff and students can make nominations. All nominations must be received by 5.00pm on Friday 29 March 2019.

Paper nomination forms are available upon request. Please contact events@tees.ac.uk to request a form.

Entry criteria

Entries should illustrate how the nominee or team meets the award criteria (click on each category to view criteria). We receive lots of nominations in each category so please make yours stand out by giving examples to support your nomination – for example, if the person or team you are nominating works outside of their job description, please give specific examples. The more information you give, the stronger your nomination will be.

Nominations will be considered by a judging panel made up of Professor Mark Simpson, Malcolm Page, Professor Jane Turner, Professor Simon Hodgson, Juliet Amos, Tom Platt and five student representatives. Please note members of the judging panel can’t be nominated in any category.
