You may be eligible for a £10,000 scholarship from the Office for Students.

Beth Mead Scholarship

Four scholarships are available with a bursary of £1,200 awarded to each scholar across the duration of their three-year degree.

To be eligible, scholars must be a national, international and/or professional footballer who identifies as a woman and can contribute positively to sport at Teesside University through high-level sports performance.

Sir Keith Skeoch Postgraduate Scholarship

In 2013, Sir Keith Skeoch generously instituted a new scholarship fund. From this we are offering four £2,500 scholarships to students enrolling on postgraduate programmes at the University's School of Social Sciences, Humanities & Law and Teesside University International Business School.

Fees-funded studentships

These research opportunities are offered on a competitive basis and cover all fees associated with full-time PhD study for up to four years. Applications are welcome from strong UK and international students. You must have an appropriate visa and access to sufficient living expenses to successfully undertake the PhD on this basis - for example through other funding mechanisms such as government sponsorship or self-funding.

Kellas Midstream Postgraduate MSc Clean Energy Scholarship

Four postgraduate scholarships each worth £12,000.

You may apply for this scholarship after you have accepted an offer of a place on an eligible MSc course relating to sustainability and clean energy. Applications are welcome from academically strong UK students.

Performance Sport Scholarship Programme

You could get access to state-of-the-art equipment and expertise, and financial help. This scholarship is open to students who are athletes at international level or with exceptional international potential.

Teesside Sanctuary Award for students seeking asylum

Five scholarships available (three for undergraduate and two for postgraduate, excluding doctoral study).

Teesside University is committed to the economic, social and cultural success of our students and local communities. The University embraces diversity and opposes prejudice and injustice.

The Sanctuary award covers your course fees and contributes towards your other study costs through a learning bursary, which is made up of two payments within each academic year. The first is paid once you have enrolled on your course, and the second at the start of semester two.

RWE Sofia Offshore Windfarm Scholarship

One £5,000 scholarship paid across your full programme of study.

If you apply to a postgraduate degree within the School of Computing, Engineering & Digital Technologies, you could be eligible for the RWE Sofia Offshore Windfarm scholarship.

Research Council Doctoral Training Partnership Studentships

The University currently participates in a number of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) programmes. These programmes are open to UK and international students. Any prospective doctoral student wishing to study at a UK research organisation, including prospective international students, can apply for a UKRI studentship. These awards comprise full tuition fees and a stipend to cover living expenses at UKRI rates (£18,622 for 2023/24).

University Research Studentships

These are fully funded research opportunities which are offered on a competitive basis, and which cover all fees associated with PhD study, together with a three year stipend at UKRI rates (£18,622 for 2023/24). Applications are welcome from strong Home and international students. International candidates will be required to obtain the appropriate UK study visa.
