During Bev’s time at the Business School, she has held the positions of senior lecturer, principal lecturer and head of department. In her current role, Bev oversees the School's marketing and student recruitment strategy. She is particularly passionate about aviation and tourism, and how the sector constantly evolves to accommodate the needs of customers and countries.

Tell us about your background
Having studied travel and tourism, I’ve worked for global brands including First Choice, Hayes and Jarvis, Swissport and Hays Travel. I’ve taught for many years, and this has allowed me to share my knowledge and experience with students as they embark on their aviation journey.
How does this enhance your teaching?
Having the opportunity to share my experience in the classroom is an honour. I use examples linked to my knowledge and experiences in the sector – through the lens of a travel consultant, overseas resort rep, tour guide and check-in agent. These are all roles I’ve fulfilled and enjoyed immensely.
What can students expect from one of your classes?
Exciting topics, creative content, lots of laughs and to be academically challenged.
Highlight of your career?
Receiving two Teesside University Star Awards for “Most Inspirational Member of Staff” and “Outstanding Leadership”.
Best piece of advice for students?
Enjoy the journey and trust the process. Aviation is not just about the destination – it’s how you get there!
