Tell us about your background?

I am currently a Senior Lecturer in Global Supply Chain Management and have held leadership roles in the sector. I hold a PhD in Engineering Management, and my research focuses on supply chain resilience, sustainability, and digital transformation.

What do you most enjoy about teaching?

I enjoy creating interactive and applied learning experiences that connect theory to practice. These approaches allow students to experience decision-making under uncertainty and develop critical problem-solving skills. The most rewarding part of my role is to watch students grow into confident professionals who can tackle complex global challenges.

How can students benefit from your experience?

Students benefit from my blend of academic expertise and industry experience. I bring insights from consultancy projects, research collaborations, and leadership roles in organisations such as Siemens, where I managed large-scale engineering and supply chain projects. My research on digital platforms, big data analytics, and sustainable supply chains ensures students are exposed to cutting-edge trends that shapes the industry. Additionally, I supervise DBA and PhD students on topics ranging from supply chain innovation to digital leadership, helping them develop advanced research and analytical skills.

What industry links do you have?

I maintain strong industry connections through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP), consultancy projects, and collaborations with multinational firms. I led a project evaluating market feasibility for a battery recycling product and have worked with organisations on supply chain optimisation and sustainability initiatives. I participate in industry conferences, which enables me to bring guest speakers, live projects, and internship opportunities to students.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Winning the Abbie Griffin High Impact Award (2024) for research that advanced innovation theory and practice. Another proud moment was leading a World Bank-funded project titled Empowering Girls in STEM through Ejaad Gahs, which developed STEAM curricula to promote innovation in education. Additionally, mentoring students who have gone on to secure leadership roles in global organisations reflects the real-world impact of my teaching and research.

Why should students consider studying this course?

It equips students with critical skills for managing global supply chains in an era of digital transformation and sustainability challenges. The curriculum is designed to combine theoretical foundations with practical applications, including case studies, simulations, and live projects. Students gain exposure to emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and big data analytics, which are reshaping supply chain strategies worldwide. Graduates of this program are well-prepared for leadership roles in multinational organisations and can make informed decisions in complex, dynamic environments.

What is the best piece of advice your have for your students?

Embrace continuous learning and stay adaptable to the technological advancements and sustainability imperatives of the global supply chain landscape. Students should actively engage with real-world problems, participate in research projects, and develop strong analytical and communication skills. Network with industry professionals, leverage internship opportunities, and approach challenges with a mindset of innovation and resilience. Success in this field comes from combining technical knowledge with strategic thinking and collaboration.
