Dean Benson Scholarship

Dean Benson is a Teesside alumnus and the CEO and Founder of Visualsoft, a successful e-commerce platform company based in the region.

With thanks to Dean for his generous support, two scholarships will now be available for students enrolling in the 2024-25 academic year, with a total value of £6,000 awarded to each scholar across the duration of their three-year degree. One further scholarship will be made available in 2024-25.

To be eligible, you must be an incoming undergraduate studying computer science or a related course. Please see further details regarding eligibility below.

Dean Benson scholarship eligibility

This scholarship may be relevant if you face financial difficulty during your studies at Teesside University. You are considered based on the financial circumstances demonstrated in your application statement and other applicant data available to the University.

To apply for this scholarship you must:

  • be a new entrant on an undergraduate course studying computer science or another related undergraduate course on the first year of a three-year degree course, not a foundation year. (see eligible courses below):
    BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science
    BSc (Hons) Computer and Digital Forensics
    BSc (Hons) Computer Science
    BSc (Hons) Cyber Security
    BSc (Hons) Games Development
    BSc (Hons) Games Programming
    BSc (Hons) Information Technology
    BSc (Hons) Software Engineering
  • have a TS postcode and have lived for a substantial period of time in the region
  • have selected Teesside University as your firm-choice destination with UCAS
  • outline your financial circumstances and how the scholarship funds will enable your studies.
