Why Teesside?

Being an international student and knowing how diverse Teesside is was a big reason why I chose to study here. Getting to know new people and cultures was something that really appealed to me.

Best thing about your course?

The lecturers are really supportive and approachable and they are committed to giving their students the best education possible. They are great at helping international students feel at home in a new environment. The course is well organised and the modules are interesting. My favourite module was International Finance.

What do you think about the campus and surrounding area?

Middlesbrough is a student friendly town in terms of living costs and the university campus is a short walk to the town centre. There are plenty of socialising opportunities to relax. The Students’ Union put on all sorts of events where you can meet new people.

Did you have many opportunities available at Teesside?

I received the Vice-Chancellor Scholarship so I have been constantly looking to improve myself during my time at University. In my third year I was able to start writing an academic paper with my lecturer and I am excited to have the work published.

What advice would you give to future students?

Don’t be too nervous or worried as the University will help you every step of the way. Make an effort to try new things and meet new people as Teesside is a great place with loads to offer.

Would you recommend Teesside?

I would recommend Teesside as I loved my time studying here and I know others will as well. There is so much to do and experience, both with your studying and your personal life.
