Having completed a foundation degree in forensic science I wanted to expand my knowledge even further. After speaking with a range of forensic practitioners, they all suggested that Teesside combined both theoretical and practical aspects of forensic science – allowing you to get an insight into what the true life of a forensic scientist is like.
There is such a broad range of subjects studied throughout the course, all of which had different practical elements to complement the theory. My main interest is the chemical aspect of the course. The facilities are fantastic, the library is one of the best I have ever been in – seriously. There are so many different types of study areas so you can choose the place that best suits you. There is a silent study floor, group work areas and more. The range of IT equipment available is great also as the library provide laptops if you prefer to work on them rather than a computer.
There is a range of activities to do in the local area that can really advance you both as a person and academically. It is a perfect location to develop as a young professional – particularly as there are so many towns and cities close by which are in commuting distance.
