The course is delivered at Stockton Riverside College, which is close to where I live so it was easy for me to study alongside working and raising a family. They also offered the course I wanted. I have made some supportive friends who have helped motivate and challenge me. I enjoyed the personal professional development modules and used them to help navigate through university life. Setting targets has helped me progress both personally and professionally.
Reflective thinking has been a great lesson, helping me look back at different situations and develop into the practitioner I want to be.
The college campus is ideal – the private rooms for higher education students are good to work in and the teaching is great. The lessons are motivating and challenging, I’ve learnt a great deal and can ask plenty of questions for development.
To complete the top-up degree - BA (Hons) Education and Training (Supporting Teaching and Learning), then progress to a teaching course such as a PGCE or equivalent.
