Why this course?

I have a passion and experience of working in early years, and so I completed a Foundation Degree in early childhood. I was then looking for a university that could offer the top-up to a full degree. I spend a lot of time travelling with my three children because of my husband’s work which I why chose Teesside University Online.

What do you enjoy about your course?

The flexibility and online materials are excellent, allowing me to access them at anytime, anywhere. And the tutors have been excellent as well – in constant communication with emails and regular video calls when I needed support.
I particularly enjoyed studying Global Childhoods, looking at childhood from other perspectives.

What skills have you developed?

The course made me reflect on my own practice and developed my knowledge on the theory of early childhood. The dissertation allowed me to develop my research skills and, with the support of my tutors, gave a great insight into early years’ teaching.
I’m now considering pursuing a master’s in early childhood to gain more teaching experience.

Any advice for anyone thinking of studying with Teesside University Online?

Engage in all the forums and always ask for support. The one-to-one video calls are an excellent help, even if it’s just to bounce ideas around. I would recommend Teesside University Online without hesitation – the flexibility and support are excellent. The online platform is extremely user friendly and can be navigated with ease.
