With over 10 years’ experience as an electrical and instrumentation technician, I wanted to further my career and I needed to get the necessary qualifications to do so.
I found the project management modules the most rewarding, and the feedback you receive from the tutors is great. I’m still undecided on my future but I’m leaning towards a career in project management as I’ve enjoyed that aspect a lot.

Studying again has taught me how to research and problem solve. I found some of the modules challenging, but there’s nothing wrong with picking up a book and reading about something from a different perspective.

Definitely. It helps develops your career so much, and ever since completing the HNC and moving onto my HND, I’ve had more job offers.
My advice would be aimed at older people who feel like they think it’s too late, it’s not. It’s daunting at first, but the tutors will help you through it. Take it a module at a time and you'll get there. It’s so rewarding at the end.
