Business Change, Improvement and Projects

The Business Change, Improvement and Projects Team (BCIP) Team support the delivery of the University's BCIP Programme. The team work closely with project sponsors, leads, managers and key stakeholders through each stage of the University's Project Management Framework, from initial concept, to detailed design, delivery, reporting and evaluation.

The Programme is directly linked to delivering the University's five Corporate Aims and covers the following six key themes of transforming our:

  • operations
  • student learning experience
  • service delivery
  • campus
  • digital offering
  • people, organisational development and communications.

The Programme has been designed to:

  • deliver a strategic step change in key University activities
  • adopt a holistic approach to project delivery (aligning projects and managing interdependencies across the University)
  • provide a sound project management framework, ensuring projects are well planned, coordinated, managed, delivered, communicated and evaluated
  • embed an outcome-based delivery model clearly focused on the mapping and review of project outcomes and benefits
  • enable a central and coordinated approach to project reporting, monitoring and review
  • increase opportunities for engagement, transparency and accountability
  • play a fundamental part in the delivery of our Corporate Strategy: Teesside 2027.

Amanda has overall responsibly for the successful delivery of the BCIP Programme, working with project sponsors and managers through each stage of the University's Project Management Framework (PMF), and for developing and delivering the best in class strategic and professional services to support and complement student experience through a single model of service excellence.

Jo Cullum
Assistant Director

Jo supports the delivery of the BCIP Programme by working closely with project managers and teams in terms of planning, managing and evaluating change activity - including progressing the BCIP projects through the University's Project Management Framework (PMF), from the initial stages of scoping out the project and understanding the key measurable benefits, through to detailed design, delivery, reporting and evaluation.

Sam Forbes
Project and Business Manager

Sam supports strategic projects aligned to the PVC (Enterprise and Knowledge Engagement) portfolio, with responsibility for providing project management and business support, overseeing a range of developments to ensure the projects are delivered on time, within budget and at pace.

Claire Frawley

As part of a team of Project Managers Claire supports the set-up, delivery and evaluation of projects in the BCIP Programme, and supports wider business improvement activity. The Project Managers will work with other business areas to conduct process reviews, using a number of project management tools, and completes data analysis. The team will create written reports that identify issues and create solutions that benefit our students and staff.

Alex Stainsby
Project Manager
