Internship

The internship options are:

Vocational: spend one semester working full-time in industry or on placement in the University. We have close links with a range of national and international companies who could offer you the chance to develop your knowledge and professional skills in the workplace through an internship. Although we cannot guarantee internships, we will provide you with practical support and advice on how to find and secure your own internship position. A vocational internship is a great way to gain work experience and give your CV a competitive edge.

Modules offered may vary.

How you learn

You are immersed in creative practice and learn through doing; by making images, bodies of work, and real-world film artefacts. Lectures are complemented by seminars, discussions and technical demonstrations.

Collaborative group work is integral to the course, to reflect the dynamics of the filmmaking industry. You are expected to initiate, design and implement your own projects, in negotiation with tutors. You also progressively become a more assured researcher, using a range of investigative methods to enrich your practice.

You are taught by a range of experienced professionals and several BAFTA Nominated filmmakers. Visiting seasoned industry practitioners further help you to prepare for the industry through their specialist skills and experience.

How you are assessed

Assessments include production of artefacts and bodies of work, critical reflection, essays, portfolio, presentations and reports.
