At Sir Robert McAlpine we fully support staff development. We have four current degree apprentices who were existing trainees. They joined the Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship course in the third year with Teesside University.

This course has allowed each apprentice to continue their progression and personal development. By having our staff well trained and qualified we ensure we maintain our well-deserved reputation and continue to ensure quality for our clients.

The associated on-going university support helps make apprenticeships workable and worthwhile for us. The Degree Apprenticeships utilise the levy funding to make this process affordable when compared to other courses.

Apprenticeships allow the opportunity to train staff in the company culture and work towards becoming incorporated members of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) whilst they are gaining qualifications.

Sir Robert McAlpine are absolutely interested in putting other staff through an apprenticeship with Teesside University in the future.
