Cleveland Scientific Institution Scholarship

Investing in your future

Working in partnership with Teesside University, Cleveland Scientific Institution is delighted to offer a scholarship if you're a student enrolling in the 2023-24 academic year, with a total value of £3,000 awarded across the duration of your three-year degree.

To be eligible, you must be an incoming undergraduate studying full-time for the first year of a three-year degree course, not a foundation year on one of the courses listed below.

Cleveland Scientific Institution scholarship eligibility

This scholarship may be relevant if you face financial difficulty during your studies at Teesside University. You're considered based on the financial circumstances demonstrated in your application statement and other applicant data available to the University.

  • be a new entrant on an undergraduate course studying computer science or another related undergraduate course (see eligible courses below):
    BSc (Hons) Artificial Intelligence
    BSc (Hons) Biology
    BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science
    BSc (Hons) Chemistry
    BSc (Hons) Computer and Digital Forensics
    BSc (Hons) Computer Science
    BSc (Hons) Crime Scene Science
    BSc (Hons) Cyber Security
    BSc (Hons) Environmental Science
    BSc (Hons) Food Science and Technology
    BSc (Hons) Forensic Science
    BSc (Hons) Health Sciences
    BSc (Hons) Human Biology
    BSc (Hons) Information Technology
    BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Science
    BSc (Hons) Software Engineering
  • You're given preference is if you live within Tees Valley, Richmond or Whitby.
  • You must have selected Teesside University as your firm choice institution with UCAS.
  • Clearly outline your financial circumstances in your application and how the scholarship funds will help your studies.

Yearly payments are subject to satisfactory attendance and completing all assessments with an average mark to at least a 2.2 classification.

In Year 3, you're asked to attend a CSI council meeting to give a brief account of how you've benefited from CSI support.

Please note students studying on an apprenticeship pathway aren't eligible for this scholarship.
