Why Teesside?

I was working in the engineering industry and had already learned a lot through my undergraduate degree, however I was interested in taking my knowledge to the next level. After doing some research I found that the course Teesside offered was perfect for me and had everything I was looking for.

Why mechanical engineering?

I chose mechanical engineering as it seemed the most suitable for my career choices. The course also covers a range of areas, so I will be able to use it if I wish to move to another sector in the future.

Best part of your course?

The best part of the course for me is getting to use computer aided design software. It allows you to gain a greater understanding of the mechanisms that work beneath the surface and the design processes that go into making products as high quality as possible.

How are the facilities?

Teesside has many great learning spaces across campus. There are lots of computer labs you can use to work on your projects any time of the day. There’s also a great mix between individual study areas and group work areas. It’s really convenient that you have that choice.

Tell us about your work experience

I have spent two years working for a company called Liebherr, which is a maritime crane engineering company. Working in this environment has pushed me to continue my learning and expand on my current level of knowledge.

Would you recommend Teesside?

Teesside is a great place to come and study. The facilities are excellent and above all else, the staff are always available to help you with your studies. They are really passionate about the work they do, and that passion is contagious and makes you want to achieve the best you can.
