Why Teesside?

I’m from Teesside and I knew they had high-quality teaching in art and design so it was an obvious choice.

Best thing about MIMA School of Art & Design?

I love that the School is part of the gallery MIMA, and it has such a good reputation across the country. My brother lives in Manchester and many of his friends know about MIMA. That makes me feel very proud knowing that the hard work of those working and studying at MIMA School of Art & Design is getting recognized.

What skills have you gained at Teesside?

Teesside has taught me how important it is to start networking, especially for someone who wants to work in the fashion industry. Lectures at Teesside always teach you new and valuable skills which are going to help you throughout your life and career.

What is the support like?

The support is amazing. The advice you get from tutors is really helpful and it shows they care about you and your future. You are supplied with accessible content like industry-relevant websites which allow you to gain a lot more knowledge about the sector.

How are the facilities?

The facilities are brilliant. There’s lots of creative spaces to do your work and there is always space free in the design studios so that you can learn all aspects of fashion.

Also the facilities in the gallery make for a great learning environment. Tutors want you to make the most of what is available and produce the best work you can.

Tell us about your classmates

My classmates are brilliant, I like working with people with similar creative minds who can help each other with challenging tasks and work.

Favourite thing about Middlesbrough?

Both Middlesbrough and MIMA School of Art & Design have some great people with great ideas. I love connecting with new people who encourage you and give great advice about your work and your future career prospects.
