FdA Musical Theatre

I feel like I am constantly learning from my teachers, as well as developing relationships with them, this allows me to ask any questions I have.

Why university?

I wanted to develop my knowledge and training and explore all possible options for a career in musical theatre. The teachers are outstanding and I believe that you don’t have to be in London to get professional training.

Why did you choose musical theatre?

It’s a subject I have always enjoyed and want a career in. I have danced and performed professionally from a young age and I want to ensure I have the correct qualifications to support my future.

What do you like most about your course?

The course covers all three practices, and it isn’t heavily based on just one. We learn about the practical side of things, but we also cover in-depth research behind techniques used. We are given feedback on ways to improve and the course environment is friendly and inclusive. I have been able to focus on my singing which is my weaker skill, so will feel more comfortable going to auditions and performing songs.

What do you think about the campus and teaching?

The teaching at Stockton Riverside College is second to none. I feel like I am constantly learning from my teachers, as well as developing relationships with them, this allows me to ask any questions I have. The campus has great facilities for this course.

What are your ambitions for the future?

I always want to strive to do my very best. I hope that after this course I can gain further experience and qualifications that can help towards my goal of teaching.
