Why Teesside?

The developments and investment that have been made towards the Business School to improve the experience is something that attracted me to Teesside. The close connections the school has with industry were also a massive plus for me.

Why business management with marketing?

I knew I was interested in marketing as I had prior knowledge in the subject, but my understanding of business was lacking. This course allows you to improve in both areas and learn more about the business ecosystem.

Best thing about your course?

The module leaders provide support throughout your time at university and the practical elements of the course connect you with businesses in the local area to apply your learning and grow your network.

I enjoy the Marketing Planning Application that allows you to be creative with your marketing plans and present them to the Gregg's senior leadership team. I enjoyed the Dissertation project as you are given the flexibility to focus on an area of your choice, which for me was data science.

How is the campus?

The campus is a key part of the Teesside experience with the very helpful Students’ Union - a hub for students. The facilities are comfortable and the study spaces across campus make studying fun and relaxing. The Student Futures team are helpful in providing CV and application support for applications and technical interview.

What Is Middlesbrough like?

The surrounding area has a lot to offer from huge green spaces in the North Yorkshire moors, an amazing coastline on our doorstep, and a growing and vibrant business scene with the expanding digital city in the heart of Middlesbrough providing exciting job opportunities in a range of sectors.

What skills have you gained?

I have been able to develop several soft skills like teamwork, my work ethic and organisational skills through the modules and work experience. I had the opportunity to take part in funded data science and AI summer foundation course that led me to my current career as well as the topic for my final dissertation.

Would you recommend Teesside?

All the advances made in recent years to the campus and the quality of the courses make studying at Teesside a great experience. I would also recommend my business management with marketing course as it allows you to think critically about business and marketing.
