The University has made me a much more confident person and taught me so much more than I could have ever imagined.
I love the Students’ Union, it’s where I made a lot of my friends through the Tabletop Society playing Dungeons and Dragons, it really helped build my confidence.
I always knew I wanted to go to university, and I was excited to find out about Teesside’s animation course. I came to an open day and taster weekend, both of which made me set on coming here. I’m glad I did, from the tutors to the environment it’s been a great experience.
I always wanted to do something within the arts and at the end of college I found a passion for animation, which was only exemplified by my desire to create something for younger generations.
The creative freedom that comes with the projects, from character design to our final year project. Tutors support us to develop our ideas, and experiment and explore them. Thanks to the opportunities given by Animex, I had the opportunity to practice pitching a kids show. I was able to create a pitch bible for a clown themed kids series, teaching cultural differences and lessons for early years. The University also helped me get an internship which involved creating prospective animated assembly content for schools.

I love being close to the coast, as I’m used to being inland; so with places like Redcar a short train ride away it’s great. Middlesbrough has with some good nerdy shops and places for food.
I want my animations to make a difference, to have meaning and hopefully help younger generations figure out what they want to do with their lives.
Absolutely. The University has made me a much more confident person and taught me so much more than I could have ever imagined.
