Why Teesside University?

As a local student, I’ve always admired the hardworking spirit of my hometown. Studying at Teesside allowed me to stay close to home, continue working part-time, and be part of a growing institution that shares my values.

Course highlights?

The balance between theoretical learning and practical application. From creating portfolios to writing reports, each assessment style has contributed to my personal and professional development. Modules were brought to life by the enthusiasm and expertise of my lecturer who consistently encourages us to reach our full potential.

Would you recommend your course?

Definitely. I came into the course with prior experience, thinking I had a strong understanding of marketing but I quickly realised how much I had to learn. The insights and perspectives shared by experienced lecturers have broadened my knowledge and mindset.

Tell us about your work experience.

Working with real clients through the Marketing Clinic has been a valuable experience. I’ve gained essential skills in communication, strategy, and teamwork.
I was also recently recognised as one of the UK’s Top 20 Graduates of the Year by TargetJobs, through their Resilience Award. As part of this, I have a two month internship at Rolls-Royce, working as a Global Mobility Immigration Intern. I’ve long admired Rolls-Royce for its reputation in innovation and engineering excellence, and I’m honoured to soon be a part of it.

Any advice for future students?

Make the most of your time here. University goes by quickly, and every experience counts.

Ambitions for the future?

To work in the IT side of marketing, ideally in a large corporate setting or within a football organisation. My goal is to build on my skills in CRM, UX/UI design, and analytical platforms like Tableau and Power BI. Teesside is helping me lay the groundwork for this through practical modules and hands-on learning experiences that will support my transition into that field.
