Luke studied this course to enhance his job prospects, and he's now secured a role in the NHS, progressing to senior clinician after just one year.

In addition to gaining valuable hands-on experience, and great networking opportunities, I studied and worked with like-minded individuals who share the same goals and ambitions as me.

Why university?

I wanted to enhance my job prospects and stay close to home. Teesside was a great option for me, for the convenience and also because the sports therapy and rehabilitation course is highly rated.

Favourite part about your course?

The people I met along the way, from supportive course mates to knowledgeable lecturers. I gained invaluable real-world experience through placements, allowing me to apply my learning in professional settings.

Tell us about your current role

I work for Connect Health, a leading provider of NHS physiotherapy services. I treat NHS patients and have progressed to senior clinician after just one year.

What skills did you gain throughout your course?

A deeper understanding of the physiotherapy industry, especially through practical placements.

Would you recommend your course?

Yes, in addition to gaining valuable hands-on experience, and great networking opportunities, I studied and worked with like-minded individuals who share the same goals and ambitions as me. The lecturers are always supportive and they really made the learning experience engaging and enjoyable.

What advice would you give to students considering Teesside University?

Keep an open mind and make the most of all the opportunities available to you. Engage with the facilities, whether it's the library, sports resources or student services, they’re there to support you and help develop your skills.
Take advantage of networking opportunities and extracurricular activities to get your name out there and gain greater confidence in yourself and your ability.

Ambitions for the future?

I would love to own my own business. I’m also considering a future in teaching, and Teesside has played a significant role in this ambition.
