Why an MBA?

I always knew I wanted to do a Master of Business Administration, but I didn’t realise it was something I could do so early on in my career.

Best thing about your course?

The course helps you understand what investments and decisions you need to make now in order to be around in the future. I look at our company in a different way and see how we need to adapt and change to be sustainable.

Also the content is industry-relevant so there is a real link between my day job and what I learn on the course. Being able to relate the assignments to my business makes it really powerful.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt?

I think the big difference the course has made to me is the ability to look at the business as a whole not just from the perspective of the individual or your department. I feel like I am listening and responding to people at a higher level and understanding business decisions differently as a result.

Has the course changed how you approach work?

The focus on leading myself and other people has really helped me understand the direction I want to take with my new line management responsibilities. It’s good to see what effective leadership looks like. So even though I am bound to make mistakes I have something to build on.
