PGCE Education and Training with Teaching English (Literacy) | MA Education (Trauma-Informed Practice)

The facilities are a high standard and accommodating

Warren Miller

Why university and why Stockton Riverside College?

When I met with the course tutor, her transparent explanations and course breakdown made it a very simple decision for me. The literacy route suited my degree in English and Creative Writing. It strengthened and consolidated my existing knowledge and experience.

Best thing about your course?

It offered a sequential building platform, and the interlocking focus of the PGCE and literacy elements were dichotomous and strengthened my teacher practise.

What skills have you gained that you feel will help you in your chosen career?

Confidence in knowing my abilities, the reasoning behind the theory of teaching, and also how to healthily challenge existing approaches with new outlooks and experimental learning.

What do you think about the campus and teaching?

The facilities are a high standard and accommodating. The teaching enabled me to grow autonomously but with curiosity.

What are your ambitions for the future?

I have started a tutoring company, to help young people with their overall communication and improve their chance of a better life. I’m also studying MA Education (Trauma-Informed Practice)* at Teesside University, and want to use this to help children and adults who have been affected by childhood trauma.
