I love the interdisciplinary nature of learning. The modules are very open to interpretation and can be applied to all aspects of art and design. There is so much freedom to create and build quality work that you can be proud of.
I really enjoyed Innovation by Design, as it was a speculative project which I hadn't yet come across in my design work. Personally, I enjoy learning about concepts and ideologies behind design, and being challenged is how I learn best.
It is always expanding, offering new facilities and places for students to feel safe and comfortable. I have found the accessibility of the Library helpful for looming deadlines, periods between lectures, and days off as it is open 24/7. There is a variety of cafés on campus, catering for all dietary requirements.
It encourages postgraduate students to integrate with each other, as some modules are mixed with different courses. We have so many facilities there to use in our free time and do group work.
Middlesbrough is an amazing creative hub, with a large artistic community. The Arts Council is always pumping money into the area, and there are so many grassroots galleries and organisations here that are worth a visit!
