Why Teesside?

I had followed the University for years and was impressed with its trajectory. I always wanted to do my master’s, so after a lot of research and deliberation I found that Teesside was the best option – and I felt really supported through the process.

Why finance and investment?

I have a passion for finance and investment, and helping people understand how it works gives me fulfilment. I worked as a treasury officer in the investment banking division of a national bank in Nigeria and wanted to further my knowledge.

Best thing about your course?

All the modules are great, providing me with a comprehensive mix of knowledge and practical skills, blending theory with real-world application.

What do you think about the campus and services?

Excellent! The campus is beautiful, and there are so many helpful services – this is part of what attracted me to Teesside in the first place. Everything feels seamless because I have access to these services.

What do you think about Middlesbrough and the surrounding area?

Middlesbrough is a quaint town, I like the vibe. It is peaceful and I have access to everything I need.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement?

I secured a role with the University through Unitemps – it was a phenomenal experience. Not only was it an income source, it helped me develop skills in areas like project management, media creation and student engagement.

What skills have you gained?

Project management, presentation skills, client engagement, research, quantitative analysis and linking theory to practice. I am more organised, and able to manage my time and resources more efficiently. I have also become more conscious and expressive.

Future ambitions?

My goal is to become a leading professional in the investment and finance field, combining hands-on experience in investment banking with lecturing to share my knowledge and insights.
