System Biology and Forensic Sciences: The Systems Biology and Forensic Sciences Group is involved in fundamental and applied research aimed at capitalising on the characterisation, understanding and modelling of complex interactions within biological systems. This includes disease pathway analysis, food technology, development of medical diagnostic devices, forensic archaeology and anthropology and work to provide improved biotechnology approaches. This intrinsically multi-disciplinary research, underpinned by the provision of internationally competitive instrumentation in the new National Horizons Centre, has a particular focus on the development of vibrant industrial collaborative research.
