Design & Creative Innovation

The Design and Creative Innovation Research Group brings together a mix of established creative practitioners with internationally recognised research portfolios and early career researchers. Key to the groups research is creative and conceptual practice contextualised within theoretical frameworks of critical thinking. Individual and collaborative research projects and externally engaged research practice investigates a diverse range of themes that embrace material culture, social design, visual communication, participatory creative practices, user experience and interaction design, experimental media and innovation with creative technologies and art and design pedagogy. The research group has a close relationship with research as creative practice in other schools within the university and as such is an associate member of the Animation, Media and Arts Research Group.
