Course overview

Study at Teesside University International Business School

See what it’s like to study at our modern, enterprising and dynamic business school

Marketing is at the heart of any organisation and is the process of understanding consumer journeys, and building and maintaining relationships with them. You explore the fundamentals of strategic marketing in practice, working as a consultant through Teesside Marketing Clinic.

If you are a business graduate or a graduate from a related discipline and want to pursue a career in management or marketing, this is the course for you. It will also appeal if you are already working in a marketing environment and looking to develop a management or marketing career, but do not yet have significant experience.

The applied element allows you to develop practice-based solutions to real-world problems. You take on a consultancy role, working on projects or internships, identifying opportunities and ideas, before going on to present strategic solutions to the client. You develop personal and professional knowledge, skills and behaviours through a process of self-reflection on your practice.

Top reasons to study this course:

  • Financial awards: study this course and you may be eligible for a range of funding and scholarships.
  • Real-world experience: our postgraduate students run Teesside Marketing Clinic, offering consultancy services to businesses in the Tees Valley.
  • Industry input: we work with brands including Coca-Cola, Apple, Virgin Money, Volvo and Microsoft. This gives you experience of working with global organisations, and the opportunity to hear from industry experts through guest lectures.
  • Entrepreneurial opportunities: our students have created 500 new business start-ups through Launchpad. The University’s enterprise team also helps you develop your entrepreneurial skills.
  • United Nations' PRME initiative: we’re a proud signatory of the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative, which aims to globally raise the profile of sustainability and responsible leadership to equip current and future leaders with the skills to deliver positive change for business and society.
