Be inspired and expand your talents while we introduce you to essential knowledge, skills and practices through cutting-edge teaching and learning.

More about Design

Benefit from an individual studio space, a dedicated print room with bookbinding, a media centre that loans cameras and equipment – even video drones, soundproof recording studios, green-screen production studios, Mac and PC labs, a stellar workshop for wood, 3D printing, metalworking and welding, and access to fashion and textiles studios.

Quality teaching

At Teesside University you are taught and inspired by doctors, readers and professors – many are active researchers within the field of design. And you benefit from the fact that a number of academic staff and an impressive list of specialist visiting lecturers are creative practitioners, offering professional experience as well as high standards of tuition and guidance. Staff are also involved in research which informs teaching and ensures our standards are abreast of current practice.

Many students stay on to study a postgraduate qualification to enhance their knowledge and skills further. We are constantly refreshing our range of postgraduate courses to meet the needs of industry and employers.

Professional awareness

Each MA programme enables you to explore and innovate in the context of professional awareness. You have opportunities to undertake projects in partnership with professional clients working in the public realm, gaining experience of current business practices. Our students also present their art works and designs in public exhibitions at client-sponsored events.
